Images disappearing when alignment is changed (17 posts)

I've uploaded photos then inserted them in my post. After inserting the image, I try to adjust the aligment to right or left and the image disappears from the post. Any ideas?

The photos on those posts have height and widths of "1". That won't work.

Do I have to specify height and width? I'm inserting a thumbnail using "send to the editor". I'm then trying to style the image using the wysiwyg editor (the little picture icon)

No, you don't *need* to specify a width and height, but it appears that you have done so, and set them both to 1.

Empty values for those are okay. Incorrect values are not.

I'm having the same problem. And yes, the image height and with are set to 1.. but not by me, the editor does that all by himself... Thats not all: it puts the image in the code twice!

    What i do:
I click "browse all" pick an image, send it to editor (thumbnail, link to none). When i did this, all is ok. The image is in the text field and i see it.

Then i click image (button in editor) and tell it to "align-left". At that moment my image seems to disappear.

A quick look in the code field tells me that the image is in there, twice, with the alignment set to left and a width and height of 1...

    an update:

This seems to happen in MSIE7 only. In firefox i experienced no problems. Also, if you click the image once then set the text alignment to left, all works fine...

    Update #2:
In this post: http://www.gbtvtalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=5059&sid=472d46eb0363fb9ebd1a0e571e7b7577 the same problem is described...

I just installed 2.3.2, and can confirm it occurs when creating a post in IE7. Image insertion in Firefox works as intended.

    atQuest says:

Also, if you click the image once then set the text alignment to left, all works fine...

I'm not sure if you mean all works fine if you do that in IE7, but when I do that it still has the same behaviour -- disappearing image...

I have the same problem. Using 2.3.2. Insert an image and if I leave it alone, all is well. As soon as I change the alignment, it's gone. I look at the code and it adds a height and width of 1 as you see below:

    <a rel="attachment wp-att-14" href="http://localhost/testblog/?attachment_id=14" title="Vincent"><img border="0" align="right" width="1" src="http://localhost/testblog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/vindec07.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Vincent" height="1" /></a><img border="0" align="right" width="1" src="http://localhost/testblog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/vindec07.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Vincent" height="1" />

This is very annoying and I hope this is fixed soon.
I guess I'll downgrade for now so I can continue to work.

I have the same problem. Images get reduced to height="1" width="1" -- which means, they're so small, they've been reduced to looking like dots.

Here's a 2 minute screencast that illustrates the problem in IE7.

It appears that the problem has been fixed. Anyone know how to confirm this?

Why do you say this has been fixed? I see no solutions posted on the multiple threads regarding this issue except to install FCKeditor or "use Firefox".
If you have a fix, by all means, do tell.

Alas, it's not fixed for IE7, neither in wordpress.com nor wp 2.3.2.

So what do you do now, people?

    1. Use something other than IE
    2. Modify the core
    3. ???
    4. Profit!!

And can this be considered as WP bugs?
