• Hi,

FINALLY! This player seems to have everything I’ve been looking for.

    I have one important question:

Using the player here: http://soaking.net (as widget on right side under chat box).

I’ve setup the playlist to pull the files from a specific folder. I would like to show the songs by Title and not by filename. Visitors need to be able to see the song title and the artist name. Can we show those ID3 tags info in the playlist for each song?

I’ve read all I could find but cannot find the instructions. Can someone help me?

Regards, and many thanks in advance!

    Andre

  • Checking in on my issue, saw yours.

    From the site:

    [mp3j track=”Udulessig@udulessig.mp3″ caption=”Matt Jones” volslider=”y”]

In other words: Use “caption”… I do not think tags are able to be pulled from song.

    Thanks for the note!

However, I didn’t enter each song one by one, rather pull them from a folder. And I use a playlist in a widget. So, not sure how that could work?

    Andre

In that case, maybe just rename the files in your directory?

Thanks for the suggestion, noisegate95, but that won’t change the fact that title and artist names won’t be displayed.

I guess the only way I could display these would be to enter each song one by one using the player admin page, correct?

    Regards,

    Andre

You could just rename the file:
    artistname – title.mp3

    or

Yes, just add the files one by one in the widget using the caption shortcode.

That would work, but I still have to use the numeral prefix to create an order of songs. I’m not at the site admin yet, so not sure if the plugin allows a song order. Or if I could use a post reorder plugin for that…

    Andre

Just a suggestion – (after looking at your site) if I were you, I would open a SoundCloud account, upload your tunes there, then use the awesome WordPress “Soundcloud is Gold” plugin? You can post widgets, playlists, etc. All in html5.

You can see my plugion in action here.

    Hi noisegate95,

SoundCloud isn’t an option for me, because the music streamed on the site comes from various artists and so it get complicated. They agree for me to use their music for streaming, but wouldn’t not want their music put on a different server.

    But, thank you!
