Hello,
I'd like to create a page that will list links to all of my active categories (i.e., won't list categories that have no posts, such as "Uncategorized"). I just want it to be a simple list of the categories; I don't want it to show links to the individual posts in each category.
This seems simple, but I can't find how to do it. Am I missing something? Thank you!

So you don't want to use the template tag, wp_list_categories(), with the exclude= and the hide_empty= parameters?

I did see the wp_list_categories() page and figured it applied somehow, but for someone who knows almost nothing about PHP, the instructions aren't especially clear, at least as far as where to begin. I see that the template tag page would be a good place to start, but again, there was no clear indication on the wp_list_categories() page that I should have checked out the tag page first. (I see the link to the index at the bottom, under "Related," now.)
In any case, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. As I said, I wondered if I was missing something. I should be able to figure it out from here, but I'll let you know if I have any problems.
