    Hi, have the latest version of Events Manager running on the latest version of WordPress.

    Really need the iCal files to work but keep getting the following message:

    “iCal can’t read this calendar file. No events have been added to your iCal calendar.”

    Can’t understand why as it imports ical files ok from your demo site.
    Please help.

    since it’s working when you try our demo site? have you check your site visibility?

    the website is currently in maintenance mode.
    I removed maintenance mode but ical still not working.

    I’m able to download the ics file to my computer, and the file all looks correct, but ical returns the same message each time:

    “iCal can’t read this calendar file. No events have been added to your iCal calendar.”

    Anyone else had this problem and found a fix?

    Deleted. Thought I found the reason why I can’t import into Google Calendar (no events appear), but I was wrong. The feed validates perfectly. Still perplexed.

    have you tried opening the ical in a text editor?

    also, make sure you’re on 5.4.3 , there’s a fix on that version that may have sorted the problem already.

    Hi Marcus, yes opened ics file in text editor and it all looks correct (which makes it more perplexing).

    using the latest version 5.4.3.

    try this then – http://icalvalid.cloudapp.net/ – maybe it’ll give a clue

    tried the validator, had 1 warning which gave the message:

    Line endings must be a Carriage Return/Line Feed (CRLF) pair.

    For me, the Google Calendar issue appears to have been due to a caching of the robots.txt “file” for a restricted site. Apple Calendar found the events, Google Calendar prevented them from being added.

    google calendar link works fine, it’s the ics file that can’t be imported into ical that’s the problem for me.

    Marcus, could the Line endings must be a Carriage Return/Line Feed (CRLF) pair. warning be relevant to ical not importing ics file?

    I tried @marcus suggested link – http://icalvalid.cloudapp.net/ and it works fine on my site without any warning or error (using 5.4.3); is it possible to share your site ics link here for us to see or check?

    have you modified our ical template at all?

    it may be that the error you mentioned is what’s causing the problem. however, normally it works fine so now we need to figure out why not on your site.

    maybe worth trying reinstalling EM – deactivate, delete (NOT uninstall) and then install again.

    i didn’t modify it straight away, but have since to try to get it working.

    I think i’m going to try installing it on a fresh wordpress site with no plugins at all to see if it works there for me.

    Hi Marcus, activated Event Manager on a clean install of WordPress (no other plugins running). Same issue for me regarding iCal files.

    Here’s a link to a Test Event with iCal link:
    http://showroombook.com/events/test-event/

    Still get the same message when clicking link to download and import into icalendar;

    “iCal can’t read this calendar file. No events have been added to your iCal calendar.”

    Hi Marcus, Have you had a chance to click on the iCal link above yet? http://showroombook.com/events/test-event/
