That’s really not up to you. If their blog is configured to pull avatars from WordPress.com, then that’s what their blog will do.
Note that WordPress.com is now integrated with the old Gravatar system, so they have been merged to a large degree. A lot of blogs that used Gravatars will now be getting WordPress.com avatars.

Isn’t the url for WordPress.com avatars set through ones Profile there? Try changing your Website url on your wp.com Profile.
Ahhh! Yeah, okay, I misunderstood the question.
Yes, you can change the URL on your WordPress.com profile and it will link to whatever you have set there.

When I comment on someone else’s blog my avatar shows up linked back to my wordpress.com blog.
How can I fix this so it goes to my .org site?
