Support » Plugins » External Widget

  • Hi, I’m looking for a way to generate a widget for an external website that would display my choice of recent posts from my blog. Something like http://www.widgetbox.com but with more freedom to customise it. Not just that I could change the appearance, but also so that I could specify whether it showed latest posts or posts from a specific blog category.

The website is http://www.acara.ie and the blog is http://www.acara.ie/blog

Is there a plug-in/widget that exists that would do this for me?

    Thanks for any help 🙂

You don’t need a plugin do this. Use WordPress’s feeds. That’s how you get the content out of your site.

Getting the content into the external site is a different matter. WP plugins/widgets only work inside of WP, not outside it.

If you’re handy with PHP, google “magpie rss” and use that to customize how the feed displays on your external site. If you’re not, check out feedburner’s “feed flare” service.
