I had same problem, too much(double or triple) count with 2.3.5.
Then I returned it to the version 2.3.2.
Now I have no problem and I’m waiting for new version.
(I use this plug-in at sidebar and single post of WP3.5.1–ja)

1. Disable all other plugins and verify if the problem persists,
2. If not, switch to another theme and check again.

I tried, but may be unable to explain well in English. Sorry.
(1)All plugins stopped
One page was counted 5,one page 4, one page 0 when each page was opened one time.
(2)Another theme
I usually use an original theme. I changed it to twenty twelve.
Other plugins exist.
Both pattern ajaxing enabled and disabled.
They became same result with (1).
Every count starts from 4 in WPP2.3.5 views.
I like this plugin.

Alright, thanks for the feedback ehou. Can you please list the plugins and theme being used on your site? I’m using Twenty Twelve and that problem doesn’t happen over here, so I’d like to replicate your configuration and check.

I tried (1)+(2), all plugin stopped, Twenty Twelve theme and WPP2.3.5.
The result, all the pages were counted by 1.

And I tried this with WPP2.3.2, too.
The Count started from 2.

It works right. Sorry.
Then I think the original theme may affect WPPP2.3.5.

I’m seeing this issue as well. It looks like WordPress SEO, a very popular plugin, is causing these double view counts.
Hope that helps a bit in figuring out the issue.
Hey guys, another question: did you enable the Ajaxify feature in wp-admin > Settings > WordPress Popular Posts > Tools? Does the problem happen when it’s enabled or disabled?
Enabling Ajaxify fixes the double counting issue.
This fix worked while using Twenty Fourteen and many plugins at http://www.cardgamelist.com.
