Transferring a site

I bought blogduck.com from this blog duck 🙂 but he had no idea of how to transfer the site to my new host and neither did I. He sent me a link with all the files but my tech guy said some files are missing. I do have some tech and it does appear that way. Getting access to his old host is not an issue so installing a new wordpress and adding the theme and database would seem to be the only way. Any advice?
