MU subdomain coming in from external subdomain

    We own and operate a MU WP at domainours.com. An external organization with the domain domainother.com has asked us to host and maintain subdomain.domainother.com (they will a record or CName the subdomain over to our domainours.com).

    To test this I created a similar situation, but I seem to be having problems getting subdomain.domainother.com to resolve to subdomain.domainours.com

    I’ve setup a CNAME from domainothers.com of subdomain.domainother.com -> domainours.com. Then put subdomain.domainothers.com in our domain Mapping settings in WP. However it just seems to bottom out & go no where.

    A traceroute shows it’s going to the IP of domainours.com but no site is showing.

    any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope that made sense, is what I’m trying to do even possible with MU?
