    Thread Starter inktails

Finally got a hold of AN Hosting. They are blocking access to the wp-login.php file on all shared hosting accounts with no ETA for resolution because of the DDOS attacks against WordPress blogs.

Pretty awesome, they wouldn’t take any advise and wouldn’t provide an ETA. Stayed calm and let them know that my blogs are the only reason I’m using them, so let’s hope they do something sooner rather than later.

    Per this thread:
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-admin-is-redirecting-to-127001

This is also happening on sites hosted by 1&1 — thought I’d crosspost in case anyone (like me, earlier) is Googling this problem.

I did notice earlier today that I kept getting “500” errors while working on my site. At first I thought it was because I was stretching my PHP memory with a few too many tabs open, but now I wonder if that could have been due to DDOS attacks.

Thanks for the update. It sure would be nice if hosting providers would send an email bulletin to customers, rather than simply shutting everyone out and leaving us to our own devices to find out why.

Yes, 1and1.com is making changes. And Yes, they do not contact anyone that they are working on it so we do not go crazy. I called them and they said they should be done soon.

As soon as I told them I had wordpress installed. I found that I could not get into the backend using login.

Now I have to wait for a 24 to 48 hour period to see if they fix it or I will have to call. Otherwise I may end up doing a work around with a rename or something.

If someone else has an update, I would be glad to hear back.

I just called 1and1 tech support. No ETA yet…they are hoping to have the issue resolved within 12-24 hours. “Hoping” is the operative word here.

According to the 1and1 support rep, this was not a planned outage, so they could not have alerted customers in advance. He also said something about having to reboot servers, but he had no other specifics on the problem at this time.

    Standing by…

Yes, I updated to WordPress 3.8 and suddenly, I wasn’t able to log in… I assumed it had something to do with the update but not, 1&1 sites are being like that.

I quite bothers me that they weren’t kind enough as to let us (their customer) know.

Anyway, let’s wait for a ETA

I just called and the support tech I spoke to was clueless. All she could do was “log a ticket” and someone “might get back to me in 24-28 hours”.

Funny thing is, it worked at 6am-ish this morning.

@plmorrell – if you need help, please start your own thread – this one is 6 months old and already marked resolved. Please see:
