Hi eschmidtke,
Don’t worry about the ‘last finished backup run’ message; that will show until another run completes, and only indicates a past problem, not necessarily a current one.
What web browser are you using? If “Show expert settings” does nothing, then probably another plugin is causing a conflict. But to see the error message depends upon which browser you’re using.
Did you manage to successfully authorise with Google Drive? Google Drive is the hardest to set up – try Dropbox if you want the easiest setup (almost not setup at all!).
David
Thanks for your reply. I am using Safari 6.03 and FireFox 21 and the red error message still appears and the “Show Expert Settings” doesnt work on either. I dont know if I can upload a screen shot here but this is the chunk

Last finished backup run: Unexpected error: no method ” was found (your UpdraftPlus installation seems broken – try re-installing)
Another backup does not appear to be scheduled
Im not sure if I have successfully connected to Google Drive. I thought I had completed the process but there is nothing in the folder but may be because the backup didnt work
Hi eschmidtke,
Don’t worry about the red error message. That’s showing what happened on the earlier backup run, and will remain there only until another backup run completes.
Click on the “Download most recently modified log file” link, and paste it into pastebin.com, then post the link here. Then we’ll be able to see what is happening with your Google Drive attempt.

I dont have any logs. I threw everything out in attempt to uninstal/reinstall thinking I try another backup but the backup button is not working so i cant run another backup and create a log.
Hi eschmidtke,
If none of the bits of the page are working, then you probably have some plugin that’s causing a conflict.
You could try disabling all other plugins, and seeing if that helps.
If it doesn’t, or alternatively, press Control-Shift-J, and Firefox will (if it’s got the same keypresses as mine!) bring up the error console. Press the “Clear” button to empty it. Then reload the UpdraftPlus settings page. Then see if any new errors are logged in the console. If they are, copy and paste them here for me to see.
Best wishes,
David
Sorry for the delay David…
I brought up the error console and when I click on the backup button to try to get it to run I get this error
Timestamp: 6/7/13 3:27:11 PM
Warning: Error in parsing value for ‘background-image’. Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://test.caps57.com/wp-admin/css/colors-fresh.min.css?ver=3.5.1
Im not sure why i cant get this to work but I was able to get a different (test site) to back up fine onto Google Drive. It is being hosted at a different provider which i have no idea if it would make a difference. Frustrating but I feel better knowing it can work. I just dont understand why I can’t uninstall and install fresh and get this error to go away and start over.
Hi eschmidtke,
If that was the only error showing, then there was no problem in the area I was thinking of.
Do you have any cacheing or minifying plugins installed? Try disabling those. In fact, try disabling all your plugins, see if the problem goes away, and if it does, re-enable them one-by-one to find the culprit.
Also, try turning on the “debug” mode setting (down the bottom of the UD page), and see if any other messages show on the page after that.
It’s a mystery so far. We’ve not got any other reports of similar problems.
David
Hi, I have the same error message : “Unexpected error: no method ” was found (your UpdraftPlus installation seems broken – try re-installing)”. I’ve tried all of your solution “even disabling the cacheing plugins” but it doesn’t seems to work, when I push the “restore” button it doesn’t do anything. Do you have any tips or solutions?
Hi j-psy,
Is this a new install of UD, or an upgraded one? Have you ever saved your settings since installing?
David
Hi,
This is a new install and no I’ve not saved my settings.
Hi j-psy – save the settings, and you won’t see that message again.
I’ve just saved the settings, and it doesn’t seems to work because I still have the same message.
Have you run a new backup? The message will still show under “Last backup” until a new backup is tried.
The problem is that whenever I try to click on the “Backup Now” button, nothing happens, I still have only 2 sets of corrupted backups that I did on thursday (The backup attempt has finished, apparently unsuccessfully (Jun 06 21:54:27)).
Hi j-psy,
Nothing whatsoever happens? Check out this FAQ: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/my-scheduled-backups-and-pressing-backup-now-does-nothing-however-pressing-debug-backup-does-produce-a-backup/
Also, click on the ‘download latest log’ link, and paste it in pastebin.com, and paste the link here.
