• Hey Guys, I’m a complete newbie on WordPress and even the Php/webhosting stuff.
Some time ago i installed WordPress in the recent version, but chose a theme that was not compatible to this wordpress version. (Varius buttons in the Dashboard did not work) So I downgraded WordPress to 3.0 using this

http://etuts.org/manually-downgrade-wordpress/ guide. I also replaced all the files in the main wordpress folder by the old one (was not sure about this particually)

Nevertheless everything worked quiet fine, and also the Dashboard ist working now. I can Edit the Pages and use all the buttons. (It also says wordpress 3.0 at the footer)

The Problem now is, that only the Homepage works, all other Pages give me a 404 Page of the Webhoster,
You can experience this on you own by visiting

Does anyone has an idea? Im getting mad right now 🙁

  • Are you aware that using an outdated version of WP is a major security risk? It also appears that that theme is also not released under the GPL licensing requirements of WP – so it’s not supported on these forums at all. I suggest you read this and start looking for a new theme and get WP current ASAP.

Hi Streuner, your problem is with permalink, so goto admin -> settings -> permalinks
and click only on save button. thanks
