   For WP1.2...
   How do I get a page of list of posts (and possible 20 words from the post) for a particular category? Something like archive pages for categories...

   The code in post here:
   http://wordpress.org/support/3/14468
   should give you a list of posts in a category, each post title links to the post.
   I didn't write the code myself somebody kindly wrote it for me (Sorry I forgot your name whomever you are).
   It doesn't give any excerpts though.
   You can see if it's what you are looking for by visiting my site and selecting a category from the menu.
