  • When you go through the plug in and choose ‘comment tool’ and complete the rest of the settings, nothing happens. No Chat can be seen. How do I choose which page to put the chat on? Please help.

    Hi @gregorgreg,

I believe the issue is related to the amount of traffic we have been receiving lately. We’re working on upgrading our server to support the growth. Please let me know if you’re still experiencing issues, as they should be fixed.

@rich Edge, it’s possible there’s another issue for your site. Barc should work on most themes but we’ve had issues in the past where certain custom themes need a little fixing. Could you tell me your site so we could diagnose? Does the ‘Overlay Widget’ work for you?

Thanks guys, and sorry about the issues we’re working hard to fix them all as well as add in other cool features!

i was able to get it to work today after i went over a ton of things. sadly i wasnt able to narrow it down to what resolved it. but shortly after it wouldnt load again, even the one on barc.com was doing the same thing. i guess i will have to get back to you once i can collect more info or if the problem continues. the odd thing is others on the blog havent had any issues. seems to only be me.

    Hi @gregorgreg,

Thanks for getting back to me. my site is http://bedtimetrader.org. The Overlay Widget works but I rearly want to put the Chat Room on a seperate page. Whe I choose ‘commet tool’ and next it goes straight to ‘functionality’ and then finish. Noting is then displayed and i am not given any code to enter in a web page. Looking forweard to your reply.

    Cheers

    Hi @gregorgreg,

Just wondered if there was an update on the above?

    Cheers, Rich

    Hi,

A good feature would be to automaticaly wipe the web chat of all messages over x days or x number of messages.

Just a thought, my main priority is to get the Chat Room onto a web page.

Hey Rich, this issues should be resolved.

I think I helped you outside of these comments but I showed you how to wipe the chat by adding yourself as a moderator.

Let me know if I can help with anything else!

my problem has not been resolved. i am the only member of my blog that can not get the chat to load. ive tried multiple browsers too. even the chat on barc.com will not work for me. is there anyway you can tell me what barc depends on to run? besides flash of course. maybe there is a service that i have disabled or set to manually start that it needs. ive gone through my antivirus and firewall and have found nothing. 🙁

so, after updating the barc chat plugin, in which index.php file do i have to put this “code”???

i would have liked to use barc chat because it is easy, but after this now, i have to rethink about it. not everyone is that familiar with coding!

ive discovered that my issue was my anti virus (trend micro maximum security) is blocking barc from loading for some reason. only way i can get barc to work is shut down my AV. cant find anything in the logs or settings that show why this is happening. i sent a email to TM about this and am awaiting a response.

    Hi barcnic,

Really liked the plugin but some of my users reported a problem and I had to remove it.

The problem is when on Chrome, a notification toolbar appears and Chrome is asking if the user is ready to allow Barc.com to show Desktop Notifications.

Is this normal? It somewhat is scaring some of my users away.

Any help is very much appreciated.
