Hey,
Please let me know what went wrong and send us the link to your site, so that we can check it out and understand what happened.
I think we can fix your site fairly fast, so please reach out 🙂
[ Signature moderated. If you have a contact page you can post that but enough with the signature, that’s against the rules here. ]
Seems that its just a spammer or the competition 🙁
@calin Vingan, Why’s that?
Calin, the reviews sub-forum let authors and contributors reply and attempt to turn around the person posting the review. Or at least demonstrate to other people that you can be the better person even in the face of a short poor review.
Replying that the review may just be a spammer or worse “Stop attacking our customers!” (that wasn’t from you and that reply made me laugh) really doesn’t help.
No spammer at al and definitely not competition.
It destroyed my website, period.
I was able to solve it myself. But the plugin should be doing what I did.
This is what I did:
Made an .htaccess and added this:# BEGIN WordPress RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] # END WordPress
This can be a small problem but nothing of my site was working anymore.
If this occures, the pluging should notice this and should rise an event that there is no (writeable) .htaccess file.Kind regards
BobP.S.: I agree with Jan!
Hey Bob,
I don’t see why a review.
You just had to write a support message and I could helped you.Best regards
CalinHi Callin,
If a plugin breaks my site immediatly after I installed it. This plugin is bad in my opinion. It shouldn’t do things without my permission if the possibility exists it breaks my website. It costs me time and thus money.
My reflex when a plugin destroys my website: disable the plugin, remove it and remove it. I’m using another SEO plugin now.
Is the problem fixed already?Kind regards
BobHey Bob,
Yes I fixed it in 2.0.2 version.
Sorry for the problems we’ve caused. We are constantly adding new features to Squirrly and our intentions is to make things better not worse.
If you still want to try Squirrly, I have a special gift for you.
Blessings
CalinCalin,
I found myself another SEO plugin.
Thanks for the offer anyway.
Since this problem is fixed and it was a smaller problem than I first thought. I’ll try to remove this thread somehow.
Succes with your plugin.Regards
BobThanks Bob,
As I know you can change it from
http://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/squirrly-seo
if you scroll to the bottom of that page.I don’t know if you can remove it but you can modify the stars, title and first review.
Succes with your blog
CalinHey Bob,
If you need help in removing the thread, please let me know, and I’ll make a video for you.
Also, if you want, send me the link to your site and I’ll make a SEO report with a checklist of what you can do to improve it and make it more searchable.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve heard Frederick Townes (who built W3Cache) at a wordcamp we sponsored talk about the same kind of problem that you initially encountered with Squirrly and we removed it.
This won’t happen to any kind of wp sites any longer, because we removed the setting that had the chance of causing this to happen.
All the best,
Florin
