Intermittent 500 Server Errors when accessing password protected posts

    Visitors are receiving intermittent 500 Internal server errors when they try to access posts that we have password protected using the WordPress core password functionality.

    It seems that we can clear the error by simply logging into the admin area – may be a coincidence., but could be related.

    I have searched high and low for a solution but there seems to be little evidence of this happening elsewhere.

    We have taken the usual debugging steps – deactivating plug-ins etc but to no avail.

    Any pointers anyone please? Would really appreciate it.
