I love this plugin, but sometimes I want more control over which posts are “related”. THANK YOU for giving us the option to change the related posts!! However, why are there only a few options available for which posts to choose? I have so many posts where there are OBVIOUS related posts, but they don’t show up as options for the Related Posts plugin. Should I be tagging all of my posts more thoroughly, to make this easier?

  • Hey!

Big thanks for reaching out and for your valuable feedback, we really appreciate it, especially since this option is still kind of a testing ground for us, to be honest. We know that this feature still has a lot of potential and we’re working hard to bring the best we can to our users.

Currently, that button shows only a limited number of random blogposts. We are still investigating how much posts is the optimum number that our service can handle and what’s the best way to display them, but we’re slowly closing to the finish line (so to speak).

I’m sure we’ll be able to release these additional features sometime soon (ASAP!), so please bear with us until we do. Any additional feedback on this is -as always- more than welcome!

It goes without saying that I’ll keep you posted on any news regarding this feature.

    Take care!

    Silvo

    Thanks for response.

    You mentioned:
“Currently, that button shows only a limited number of random blogposts.”

So how is related post determined? By Tags, by title? …or is it that what you are referring to that is “random”?

    Hey @hydn!

Well, now, in the latest version, the button shows about 30 related posts, but you can search for many more with our search box (actually through all your posts), so there should not be any limits any more.

But besides that our aggregator works more or less in the following order: tags, categories, title + content. This is the order in which it looks & finds relevant content from around the web.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if you need any kind of assistance — I’ll gladly help!

Take care & have a nice day!

    Hi Silvo,

I just wanted to say thank you for the informative replies! I’m going to make sure I have the most recent update for this plugin, because it sounds like it will now do what I want it to do. And now that I know the priorities of the aggregator, I think I might go through and tag my posts for thoroughly.

    Cheers!

    -Kelley

Hey Kelley, you are more than welcome and please do let us know what you think about it — we’ll be more than glad to hear your feedback!

Take care & have a nice rest of the day!

    Best,
    Silvo
