Dropped line breaks and other formatting problems

Well, having a bad wordpress day. NOw I can’t seem to post in the forums either…

Try again: When I first do a page or post all is well. When I go back to edit it however, all line breaks get dropped.

I’ve read through several forum threads going back more than a year. Various fixes, none seem to work for everyone.

I have the problem on a dozen different wp installs, various versions, including the latest.

My only workaround is to create pages in a text editor and then paste it all into code view. Works, but only till the next edit, when all formatting is lost and it’s back to the text editor.

Frustrating to say the least, and it means that none of the sites that I set up for clients to edit their own content are currently viable.

PLEASE, does anyone have a fix for this?
