Does anyone know how to widgetize the theme http://www.alexallied.com/alexified? I followed automattic but is beyond my abilities. I sent an email to author with no response as of yet.

Unfortunately, that's the best we can tell you: follow the instructions at automattic
http://automattic.com/code/widgets/themes/
Otherwise you will have to find somebody who would do it for you.
