    Hi,

I am having this problem for so long now.

I have a one page wedding website and I have this RSVP plugin at the end of my page. The problem is when I submit the form, the whole page reloads and the view from user side is turned back to the top of the page.

for example: i logged in my first and last name and after submitting the form, I’m on top of the page. I will then now scroll at the bottom of the page where my RSVP is and continue to fillup the form. I will submit again and the same thing happen, on top again.

It’s quite tedious if I’m the user having the scroll down again and again. So the solution would be to have an AJAXized form which will be much more complicated OR put a hashtag at the end of the URL every time a user submit the form so that he won’t change his/her viewport from the form.

So can anyone help me in putting it at the end of the page? I think Contact Form 7 has this feature because I tried it once. It reloads the form but after loading, I’m still at the bottom of the page. I then saw that the URL has an anchor tag amended to it.

    Thanks,
    I hope someone can help

  • I don’t know how to make the change that you need, I haven’t really looked at the code very closely, but I have a solution that you may like better.

Add the rsvp form to a WP page, then make it so that page will load without themes. Then create a link near the top of your existing 1 page website. Set the link to open up an Iframe popup (lightbox style) of the new rsvp page. Your guests will be able to RSVP without even having the main page reload, and they can stay at the top(or bottom) of your page the whole time. When they are done the close the Iframe and don’t have to see the RSVP form again unless they want to.

This is a bit of an advanced strategy, but it wouldn’t require editing the plugin at all and therefore should be pretty stable. I think it should be pretty easy to find a plugin to remove theme files from a page, and also a plugin to open a lightbox Iframe.

Any questions I would be glad to help.

    Hmmm…

iFrame + Popup = that makes sense man!

And I don’t even need to have another section for the RSVP form. Just a link at the main menu and whenever the user clicks on it, a window will pop-up wherever section of the one page layout they might be.

    Genius!

    thanks!
