• just upgraded wordpress…i have a backup of mysql and all my files…after going through upgrade process my FAQ page doesn’t work and says the table “wp_categories” doesn’t exist…searched my .sql backup file and it is there…how do i now add that table and info (and only this table and info) back to my database so that my FAQ page works?

    i think i have it…looked at the backup and found the table in question and just added the sql in phpmyadmin…

    The categories table no longer exists in 2.3 (and higher).

    So you will need to make sure plugins/themes/customizations take that into account.

    Also, categories were ‘transformed’ into the terms tables.

    ok, so my plugin no longer works with 2.3 (according to what you’ve linked to) and I’ve ran the sql to update the table structure and now it works…should i be concerned, or since i’ve manually added the table am i good to go for now?

    When you add Categories via your blog they will not be added to the old categories table.

    Best advice is to fix the plugin or download a version that is 2.3.1 compatible.
