Hi,
I'm trying to password protect a Page and I entered in a password for the Page Password. However, when I go to the page it does not prompt for a password. I have cleared my cookies and logged out to no avail.
The only thing I can think of is that I am using a page template. Would that matter? It really shouldn't...
Thanks!

If it helps, it is registering that is password protected. There is a "Protected:" before the title.
Just no password dialog.
Any ideas?

If you delete your cookies you should get the password promt. It doesn't show up because you're logged in.

I had a similar problem.
What I forgot was that I was using the wp-cache plugin and what was happening was that it was showing the cached page of the 'enter your password'. When I cleared my cache and cookies and turned off that plugin it started working properly again.
This post offers a solution to the problem of using wp-cache with password protected posts:

Just don't post this on every six months old topic...

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to be a pest, only to be helpful. I was having this problem today and thought it might help others since those were the only 2 threads I found that were related and neither one offered this solution.
