Youtube Embed: Player different height than video

    When I embed a youtube video, the height of the videoplayer is bigger than the the height of the video. I have tried it with just pasting the youtubelink and using the embed-shortcode with set width and height settings. The width of the videoplayer and the video adjusts perfectly, but the height always stays at the maximum, regardless of the scaled down width. How can I make the youtubevideo adjust perfectly to each screen/div size?

    Have you tried using the code from embed option in YouTube in which you can use your custom height/ width?

    no, i used the embed option from wordpress and specified the width and height to 640×360. when i put the video in a div with e.g. 300px, the width automatically adjusts, but the height stays at the maximum of 360px.

    Try the YouTube embed option (with custom height or width) and see if it works. Also see if it works with WP default theme.

    i am using twentytwelve theme. i will try it with youtube embed, but i was under the impression that it’s better the use the default wordpress embed features.

    same problem with the youtube embed.

    the video scales perfectly, but the videoplayer itself stays at the maximum height.
