• I set my blog only last week by exporting from wordpress.com and I am using twenty eleven theme and I do not have any plugins activated.

When I try to add an image into the post using the ‘add media’ button it looks as if it is uploading and then it gives an error saying “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

And when I use ‘Add New’ in the media library it says “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2484 bytes) in /home2/nooshing/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 937”

If I log out and log back in, then the image appears in the media gallery.

The browser I am using is Chrome and my website is nooshingaround.com

    Please help 🙁

  • To test, try adding small thumbnail size image to the library. Does that work?

I uploaded 7 images around 100KB-200KB just now and then I started getting the same error for any other image I tried to upload so the problem continues.

Still getting the “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1200 bytes) in /home2/nooshing/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 937”

Are you using the problematic plugin re:

    Have you deactivated all plugins?

Can you please test if just one small image upload works? Why? This tests the basic functionality…When uploading many, there can be varying reasons of failure: a script timeout, a file that is too big, a file with errors, a file with an improper filename or extension, a very busy server….an ISP issue, a connectivity issue, a local machine issue…

How does the site load at these times?

    I’ve deactivated all the plugins.

I just tried to upload a 150KB jpeg into a post and it’s still the same. It says “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.”

and the web site loads fine.

Actually, your site takes REALLY long to load for me. Do you have a lot of images in your media library? Have you checked on your server space?

Really? that’s weird because I tested it on another computer and it didn’t take much time to load.
I have 40 images in the media library, but there are a lot more images in the blog. They failed to copy across when I imported the .xml file when transferred the blog across from wordpress.com so now I don’t know where those images are saved. My wordpress blog was nooshingaround.wordpress.com

Maybe I should just uninstall wordpress from the host and start again from scratch? (I so don’t want to do this)
