    Hello,

I moved hosts – lost my site, and am trying to restore. I’m having a rough time. πŸ™‚

I can’t find any file that has an .enc extension. Where would I find this? What would the name be?

I also can’t find the proper way to transfer it via Filezilla. Where do I find it? All I can see is what is on my computer. πŸ™

    Hi lovelovething,

Where did you store the backup? Was it encrypted?

Well, I believe it was encrypted. I just stored it in the Downloads folder on my mac. I have the Database folder and the FileSystem folder.

That’s all you need. The Database folder and Filesystem folder.

You’ll need to create your database in your host control panel, you should get given username and password and hostname etc.
Then use same control panel as it should have a phpMyAdmin somewhere. You can use this to import the SQL file in the Database folder into the web site database.

Next, if you go in Filesystem folder you have “wp-config.php” – edit that to change database details in the define DB_HOST etc lines. If you’re going back to same host this isn’t usually necessary.
Then use Filezilla to upload the Filesystem contents.

Things may or may not work then, but you may need to refer to http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
