This sort of error message pops up every now and then?

Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: File "<snip>/wp-content/themes/Memoir/js/custom.js" doesn't exist.

However, such file really doesn’t exist – neither on my web server nor in the theme files. Where is it pulling the name from?

  • Same issue here:
Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: File “<edited>wp-content/themes/child1/js/custom.js” doesn’t exist.

I’m reading this to mean that the minification process of building this new file, custom.js, is failing, not that the file should have existed before minification.

Perhaps Frederick Townes will be able to shed some light on this for us?

If you’re using the latest release this is often a false positive. Disable the error checking notification entirely.

Yeah, I keep up to date on the latest. Alright then, thanks!
