• Hey,

Just wondering if it’s possible (legally) to change the look of WordPress (but keeping the copyright at the bottom). I’m doing a community-based site and wanted the whole site (especially the back end that registered users can access) to match the site.

    Allowed?

    Thanks,

    James

  • You mean the “front end”?
There are hundreds of free downloadable themes:

and of course, you can make your own theme as you wish. It is absolutely allowed 🙂
    This might help:

Was actually referring to the back-end. The place where you can post and edit options, plug-ins, and stuff?

Oh, then I misread it, sorry.
But that doesn’t change the answer: you can change whatever you want. (Actually, it is in the GPL license that comes with the package, you may even want to read it…)

Hahaha, awesome, thanks for the prompt response! 😉

(Wow, if I read all the things that are given with WordPress… ;))

Nobody said to read to code. But downloading a script that has a license… I’d say it’s useful to read it.
