    Hello,
I am new to wordpress, and It's a great bit of software!!

I can't belive that the editor is not a bit easier for novices to use, the idea of systems like this is that little or no scripting knowledge is needed, but te first time I use it I am having to try and put html commands in etc...all I want to do it wrap the text around an image, I know it states how to do this in the documentation, but I can't get it to work!!
Why can't it just do this simple thing by default, then at least it would work a bit more like publshing software, I am sure the technical people out there would be able to turn it off!!..also, how come the full version of tinymce is not installed as standard so we can all benifit from it's editing features.

If I can't get this gong..does anyone know a wysywyg editor that generates HTML for free!! I have microsoft publisher and this does it, but it is a pain to use!!

That's a theme specific issue. Many themes align/float the images by default and the text wraps around them. Others don't.
