• Hey Paul,

unfortunately I did not find any other way to contact you, so I decided to do it this way.

At first congratulations to this nice plugin.

My question is a simple one. Several days ago I released a plugin “enigma chart.js” (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/enigma-chartjs/) was basically does the same as “WordPress Charts”. So far your plugin seems to be a little bit easier to handle and also supports more features of chart.js.

As I saw your plugin my idea was basically: How about combining boths plugins, resulting in ONE plugin developed by both of us. The idea is, that we try to add as many features as possible in order to make it easier for the user to choose. I think it would be nonsense to develop two plugins doing the same thing.

How do you think about this basic idea?

    All the best,
    Alex

  • Hey Alex

thanks for the message, and taking a bit of time to check out my plugin as well, Also thought it was quite uncanny that we had both developed a similar plugin at seemingly the same time.

While appreciate your sentiment I have two reservations about combining them right now. Firstly, I’m about half way through my 1.0 feature set already but may be willing to discuss it a little further once thats complete. Secondly I come from a WordPress theme dev background so I’m quite keen to experiment and learn about the plugin API with this, and I’m not sure about how that will play out in a team setup. Lastly I work in a dev team currently, our focus being client orientated advanced custom WordPress development and I’m quite excited to be doing this on my own for a change.

that being said I may be interested in revisiting this conversation once I’ve hit my 1.0 milestone to see how we can extend on my original goals and vision with this plugin.

Thanks for getting in touch and I look forward to chatting with you soon.

    Warmest Regards

    Paul
