I have a recently installed WordPress 3.5.1 site and proceeded to add the WP Avatar plugin v1.4 (latest at this moment).

Then I added the avatar images to the accounts created in the WP site and they display ok in the dashboard and shows the WP Avatar section on the profile as well as the WP Avatar settings in the plugins section. The WP Avatar plugin is ACTIVATED.

However, in all posts or pages even when I use the WP Avatar icon on the editor that inserts the WP Avatar shortcode it never seems to work. The short code is added but when the page/post is displayed it shows the default avatar (I chose Mistery Man).

I don’t seem to find anything else that indicates I have missed a step. Obviouly the plugin is installed and configured but it can’t find the image even though the avatar images where added using the plugin’s addition to the user profile.

  • Hi, is this your first time using the plugin? (I just want to make sure if the plugin was working for you before, but stopped working.)

    What theme are you using?

Yes it is the first time. I am using the latest Twenty Ten theme.

I just did a test of a fresh copy of WordPress 3.5.1 and Twenty Ten 1.5. I activated only WP User Avatar. I created five different users (one for each role) and assigned three of them avatars, leaving one with a Gravatar and one with the Default Avatar (Mystery Man). Then I inserted them via shortcode to the Hello World post. Each user’s avatar showed up fine.

Do you have any other plugins active? Also, maybe deactivating and reactivating the plugin will help?

I’m using Simple Local Avatars v1.3.1 with the detube theme and it works just great. My WP version is 3.5.1. The plugin places an avatar upload area at the very bottom of the profile page.

Yes I have several other plugins active. I did deactivate and reactivate again and that seem to have fixed the problem. Now the avatars are showing, thank you for this nice plugin.
