Hi all- I was unaware of the problems with redirecting sites that have php. I was in my bluehost control panel and set up a sub-domain “blog.herchenrother.com” that I was going to redirect to “herchenrother.com/blog” so that I could use the first url without having to change the set up of my site’s files.
Anyways, immediately after doing this I went to herchenrother.com/blog and it’s now gone. Just a filler page by bluehost. I instantly deleted the subdomain I created but the /blog page has not reappeared.

I found many answers to fix if you redirect a wordpress page to something else but nothing about what to do if you redirected a non www. page to a wordpress page.

Project is due tomorrow morning in class, please help! I’d appreciate any advice SO much!!!

  • Just create a .htaccess file in

    blog.herchenrother.com

    with the following content

    Redirect 301 / http://herchenrother.com/blog

assuming you are using Apache web server.

I hastily deleted the blog.herchenrother.com subdomain thinking it would revert everything back to normal. Do I need to…recreate it?

Okay I created a new page that will be used as a blog and copied the old page template to this one. Not really solved but at least I can see it.

Okay, glad to know you’ve found a way to get around it.
