Can anyone tell me how I get 9 images on one page, in 3 columns and 3 rows?

I tried this code, but without success:
    [gallery ids="1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9" columns="3"]

    Thanks for any help!

Does anybody know how to show a gallery? What is the code to make it work?

How big are your thumbnail images, maybe they are too big to fit in the three columns so it isn’t working.

If you’re willing to spend $20 for a plug-in, I highly recommend Justified Image Grid. I’ve used it with Pinboard and it works like a charm. Also, the developer is very helpful at answering questions.

Here’s his site: http://justifiedgrid.com/ and here’s the video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24TtDj1Yl9Y

My site isn’t online now because I’m transferring it to another hosting service, but I’ve been very happy with Justified Image Grid. It was also very easy for me to learn how to use it.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your reaction, Celeste. First I would like to try the WP Gallery and when this seems to be impossible, I’ll invest in a good plugin. I’ll remember your suggestion.

@ Paul, did I use the right code for WP? The only way I can add images to a page is when I add a single image. But I want a gallery…

Yeah it seems like the right code. I am not sure how you created the gallery in the first place though. Make sure when you are editing your page that click “Add Media” then when it brings up the window for the media click “Create Gallery” on the left. Then just select the photos you want to be in your gallery from your library or you can upload them. Here is a screen shot of the “Create Gallery” button. When you create the gallery it should write the shortcode for you.

If you have already done this with your gallery try removing the “Columns” attribute and seeing if it works. According to the documentation below, 3 columns is the default value for the gallery so your columns attribute is not doing anything.

    I am using WordPress 3.4.2. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t work…
Do you know how I create a gallery with 3.4.2?

I found out that it’s essential to upload images from my computer to add them to the gallery.
I can not choose images that are already in the media-library.
