    Hi there,

Just got a small question – i will try and make it as short and simple as possible:

Is there a way that I can modify the checkout process so the customer is not required to enter their personal details (adsress, name, etc) until they go to the payment gateway website and put it in there?

I have been currently using the Shopperpress theme and have found the checkout process quite lengthy and cumbersome and I’m looking for a better way of doing it and that might be by using your system. In Shopperpress, when a user wants to buy an item as a guest they have to put their personal details in our website first and go through a few more steps.

When they are taken to the payment gateway (whether it be PayMate or PayPal) they then have to put their details in again. Customers using PayPal obviously have no problem with this as so many people already have a paypal account and will just sign in there. But PayMate is not so popular and users have to provide all info again.

Hope I have been pretty thorough here, sorry i meant to keep it short and simple.

We have a tutorial for customising checkout fields here; http://docs.woothemes.com/document/tutorial-customising-checkout-fields-using-actions-and-filters/

We’re also releasing an extension today which will give you control over this via the backend. Stay tuned.

Thank you for answering my question so promptly! I think you guys have set a support response record!

I was just doing some more testing in your system and another question came to mind…

I have noticed that your system automatically pushes customer information (address, name, etc) into paypal when checking out with paypal. That is amazing stuff!!!!

I am just curious if I can achieve this same result with my other preferred payment gateway, “paymate”.

This is an alternative method to the question I posted in the first instance – the result would be the same, a shorter and more robust checkout solution for the customer.

Will rip into your documentation tomorrow. It’s late over here but so much to learn about woo commerce.

    Hi,

What will the extension be called?

    Thanks

Sorry Mankie, but I am not sure what you mean.
    Can you please elaborate?

Right now I have created a custom plugin for paymate to work with shopperpress (in PHP) but it does not pass on personal details of customer (that they have already entered on my website).

Everyone that mijerh (not sure about spelling) supports is not really proposing a cost effective method for me and their support team got back to me and made it clear that they would not support paymate either (maybe not enough money in it for them).

Sorry Mankie, I just realised the question was not for me :p
