• Hi,

We have a few users who post on our WP blog and sometimes their comments are caught and marked as spam. The comments seem to be random — sometimes just text, sometimes there are 1-2 links in the comment. We have our comment moderation set to 10 links but they never show up there, just in the Akismet Spam area.

Is there a way to put them on some sort of whitelist? Unfortunately, some of the people that get caught are some of the highest comment posters on the site.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best,
    Cent

There was an askimet whitelist plugin but the link no longer works. Does anyone have the plugin that could provide the code for us?

I’d like to know about this too, a friend keeps getting caught by the spam filter, and I’d like to take him off somehow.

well, the best way is to ask him to stop posting links to cheap cialis and viagra.

you can ask the akismet folks to remove him from the shitlist as well, if he’s a legitimate poster. Chances are he was flagged making a post on someone else’s blog, and with akismet the mud sticks.

also, if its a friend, then you can get him to register a user account on your blog – and get one of those fine “don’t bin my users with akismet” plugins… dozens of which are floating around.

Heh 😀 …he doesn’t post links, just thoughts and comments on the article.

The thing is though one of his email addresses is new and another is old, and the old one is fine, the new one is giving him problems.

I have “membership” disabled for other reasons, and there’s really no reason for them to sign up for an account on my blog.
