I ran the Sucuri scan which showed there there is a malware infection. I am also running a Malwarebytes scan on my computer which now shows at least one object detected that wasn’t there previously (I scan periodically). I have also cleared my browsing history and cookies, and changed my ‘admin’ password to my WordPress control panel. Do these steps help at all?
I have taken a look at those resources provided and am quite overwhelmed. I have no idea what my next steps should be in order to resolve this issue.
Should I go into my WordPress dashboard and ‘re-install’ WordPress? By doing so, will I lose all website data?
You really need to go through all those resources – if you don’t completely clean up the hack and address possible sources of it, it will reoccur. Unfortunately, there is not quick and easy way to do so. If you can’t do it yourself, you could hire someone to help you – Securi is quite well regarded and it might be worth the cost to have it done right :).
