    One of our IP addresses is currently blocked by wordpress.org:

    Resolving wordpress.org… 72.233.56.139, 72.233.56.138
    Connecting to wordpress.org|72.233.56.139|:80… failed: Connection timed out.
    Connecting to wordpress.org|72.233.56.138|:80… failed: Connection timed out.

    Just wondering who to contact about finding out why the block was placed and how to get it removed.

    There’s nothing there to say that your IP address has been blocked. Just that the connection times out. Are you still having problems?

    We believe there is a block in place since we can ping wordpress.org but cannot connect to the web site portion itself. Thus various functions in any installed wordpress fail because of that. Other IP’s on the same network have no issue connecting. With any other service this would suggest a block due to abuse.

    This could be an issue on your server rather than anything at wordpress.org. As far as I am aware, WPORG isn’t blocking any IPs but I’ll ask someone with more seniority about it – just to be sure.

    Hi – it’s possible that your IP is blocked. In order to check, we need to know which IP you think is being blocked.

    He may be talking about hawkhost, which appears to be his company from his WP profile and from whois: http://top.robtex.com/hawkhost.com.html#records

    The IP that we believe is blocked is 174.37.162.45.

    It’s unblocked now.
