Unfortunately, BP moderation doesn’t work for me either using BP 1.7. I click on the flag button, but it doesn’t change to unflag, and the flagged comment doesn’t appear in the admin. Thanks.
JDD,
I am having the same experience with WP 3.5.1 and BP 1.7.1.
I emailed the Developer asking if he is going to update the plugin.
I hope there is more incentive or motivation to do so now that BP made big and important changes with 1.7 release.
Hi, I’m the plugin author, I neglected it for some months due to other commitments, sorry for the inconvenience, glad you could find some workarounds.
I’m currently working to get it compatible with bp 1.7 and 1.8, if you are willing to get involved in it, as tester or developer, read this post: http://flweb.it/2013/06/bp-moderation-is-broken-help-fix-it/
(tldr: dev version https://github.com/francescolaffi/BP-Moderation report issues to https://github.com/francescolaffi/BP-Moderation/issues )
thanks
@benjino: don’t remember if I replied to you as I got several emails regarding it, thanks anyway for pinging me about it. I didnt notice that the plugins group were closed and I was used to get notification for problems from http://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-moderation/
@francescolaffi
When do you think it’ll be ready?
please say it will be ready soon.
I use WordPress 3.5.2, and BuddyPress 1.7.2,
so the current version of this plugin wouldn’t work for me.
BP moderation, in concept at least, is a fantastic notion,
and the look of it, from the screenshots, is beautiful.
I will eagerly await its upcoming update!
I’m testing with BP 1.8 and I’ll then release the stable version, however the dev version should already be stable with BP1.7: https://github.com/francescolaffi/BP-Moderation/archive/master.zip
report any problems, thanks!
@francescolaffi
Do you have an aprox. date when the version that works with BP 1.8 will be available? Thank you for your work it is appreciated!
Sincerely,
bphelp
Yes, it is up with WP 3.5.2 and BP 1.8, and your BP-M 0.1.7 currently. You’ll have to register as a user to play with the functionality, and I can report back as to what is happening when you do. Let me know what user you are, or I’ll probably figure it out with the email address you register with.
http://www.givemeselfesteem.com is the site.
Oh wow, a little confusion there as to who was writing to who—probably didn’t have my glasses on. No worries, check out how it works anyway.
tagged a stable release http://flweb.it/2013/07/bp-moderation-0-1-7-compatible-with-bp-1-7-bp-1-8/
I tested it better with bp 1.7 than 1.8, if you find any problems report them on github. thanks!
@francescolaffi
So the BP Moderation plugin stable version (downloadable from WordPress.org directory) is now compatible with 1.8, too? Or do we need to download it from github dev version?
Please respond ASAP. Thanks in advance.
@francesolaffi,
What do you mean “better?” Do you mean only with 1.7 or that you found more solid results with 1.7?
@benjino
@francescolaffi
So is it safe to put the plugin (downloadable from WordPress.org plugin directory) on a BuddyPress 1.8 site?
Please respond ASAP. I’m ready to use this plugin.
Sorry, still don’t see menu.
I’m using 3.5.2, BP 1.7. Installed on network. Went to site where BP is installed (it’s not ID=1 and its a subdomain) and didn’t have the ability to install on the one site with BP.
I also tried network activating, and I don’t see any top-level menu. What *should* I be seeing?
@benjino: I did test more configurations with 1.7, only the main enviroments with 1.8.
@jcollier: I didnt consider multisite and bp active on site !=1, please open a ticket with description on how to reproduce your environment on github.
