    Hi,

I’m probably missing something but I’m working on a website using the WPML with the events manager plugin along with the compatibility plugin. My main language is English and the secondary language is French.

While a number of things are working I’m finding that the text inside the widgets aren’t showing up in the string translation fields (ie if I use the View All Events button at the end of the Events widget how do I change that text to french?).

Also on the pages for an individual event listing it shows the French content but all of the headings like “Date/Time”, “Locations”, “Category(ies)” are all in English. I have the same issue with the table headings and search bar on the Events page. Does anybody know how I would translate these items? Is there a po or mo file that I need to add or something?

    Thanks for any advice.

Partial success, I found the translation options in the Format settings!

But I’m still unsure of how to translate the widget text.

    Thanks.

    hi,

Try Appearance > Widgets > events widget > list item format

    Thanks agelonwl.

The text that I need to translate is actually the field directly below that for “All events link text?:” after the checkbox for “Show all events link at bottom?”. Usually that sort of field would show up in WPML string translation but the contents of the widget don’t seem to register.

Sadly at the moment that sort of text won’t be translated.

The easiest possibility I can think of now would be to have two sidebars, one for each language, and create a widget with the relevant text for each one. Not sure if there’s something WPML provides or there’s another plugin that lets this happen.

    Thanks Marcus.

I’ll try using the Widget Logic suggestion from this thread:

    and see how it goes.
