    Hi All,

I’ve just setup a blog for our company site. I’m not very experienced integrating WordPress with an existing design but had a go anyway and it seems to work fine. I installed JetPack and Yoast. When I want to tell people about a new blog post using our Google+ business page I simply paste the blog post URL in and Google+ should show the post title, a few lines of content and an image. For some reason the blog post title does not appear. Instead, our company name is displayed which is the same as our Google+ page name. I’m not sure how this is happening. I’m guessing either there is a problem with either my JetPack or Yoast install or maybe both. Otherwise it could be an issue I created when I customized the header.php or footer.php file perhaps?

The Google+ page is https://plus.google.com/107674484357579433218 if you don’t mind checking and the blog is at http://www.atoznetventures.com/blog/

I’d appreciate any help. I looked on the forums and found plenty of issues with titles being repeated in Google+ but not what I’m experiencing.

    Thanks!

I have the exact same issue. I am on version 3.5.1 as well. I have Yoast installed, so it’s generating my OpenGraph tags as well as the HTML title tags as well. They both have the <blog post name> – <Site Name>, but the only thing shown on Google+ is the <Site Name>.

Would love an update if anyone has seen this and recently been fixed.

Hi Nathan. I kind of solved the issue. It had nothing to do with Yoast or Jetpack as far as I know. I found the issue with my microdata rich snippet code markup on my business contact details. I updated a recent blog post about using microdata to explain the problem. It worked in my case but was not the ideal solution. Take a look at my post on Microdata Rich Snippets Tutorial for Local SEO and the update I wrote under the video.

I didn’t see this reported anywhere when I was trying to solve the problem myself, I just had an idea on the spare of the moment. Hopefully my post helps you and others. Let me know if it does.

I was just coming back here to post something about this. I was slowly rolling back changes I had made in the past 3 weeks to see what could have caused it. Not all posts are showing the title now, but I am going to give it 24 hours, but I can see why that might be happening. But I had the same thing, schema.org tagging. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.
