Corrupt htaccess after bulk changes

    For some reason when I make bulk changes – such as mass edit tags or mass delete posts (20 posts) – my htaccess file becomes corrupt (lines of text disappear) leading to a 500 internal server error.

    Using WP-Super cache and have a fairly complex htaccess file.

    Has anyone else experienced this before?

    Try restricting write access to .htaccess ?

    i tried that, didnt work.. what code would you suggest?

    also i would like to find out the underlying problem than a fix like this!
