I know there are quite a few threads concerning the problem of reordering songs in the backend, but I did not want to hijack an existing one, so I am creating a new thread. I am a pro user of this plugin, and I believe that this issue only started occurring once I upgraded to pro.

I have disabled all plugins, and switched to the default theme, but the problem with reordering still exists. When attempting to reorder the songs with everything enabled, the song is not able to be selected.

With everything disabled and the theme switched, the songs can be selected and reordered but when saving the new order, the songs are not saved. They revert back to the old order.

I have read that they can be reordered in the database, but I am having issues logging into the database for this site due to the database being created at root level and the host’s phpmyadmin does not allow us to use the database login. I will contact them so I can hopefully get a work around. I am not sure how easy it will be to reorder them from the database?

Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide. It seems that a lot of people are having this issue, and it is unfortunate. If there is anything I can do to help isolate the problem and provide a fix, that would be fantastic.

Hi Tim, thanks for reporting this. The current re-order issue is only relevant to Pro version (there is no re-order function in Free version). It is being caused by a series of small code bugs and errors in this plugin which I am currently going through and systematically fixing. I will be releasing a majorly overhauled version as soon as it’s ready to go.

Long story short, I was pretty new to plugin development when I made this plugin originally and as it’s grown, a few rookie errors have come to light! The best thing I think I can do at this stage is work through the issues thoroughly and basically overhaul this code so that when I release a new version a lot of the conflicts and bugs are properly sorted out.

Thanks for your patience, and apologies for any inconvenience. ETA 2 weeks for new version…

I also have the Pro version and I’m wondering when the new version will be available?

2.2 will be released very soon. I’m working hard on the last few bug fixes so hoping to release within a week or two. The main purpose of 2.2 release is bug fixing – it’s basically a major overhaul of the code to fix a bunch of little issues, conflicts and a tidy up.

2.3 will be released a month or two down the track, after I have the code totally stable. 2.3 will contain a bunch of new and improved features such as internationalization, import/export feature, integration with eCommerce plugins for selling music easier, responsive design support and more.

Looking forward to it Maeve, appreciate your commitment on this… 🙂

Maeve, thanks for your replies. Where can I go for notification of the 2.2 release for the pro player?

    Thanks so much!
