location of blog…

I can never find my posts a few hours after I have posted.. these forums are in BAD need of “watch this thread” feature.. (I think there’s a url somewhere that lists yr posts, but I don’t know what it is..)

I need to know how to move my blog from mydomain.com/php/to mydomain.com/blog.. what I wrote yesterday:

I need to know how to put blog on a diff location from where WP is installed.. my WP files are in mysite.com/php/, but I want my blog to be at mysite.com/blog/…

it says in instructions (http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory):

Copy the index.php and .htaccess files from the WordPress directory into the root directory of your site (Blog address).

but can’t find any file or dir called .htaccess among WP files..

That’s NOT for your situation – read it more carefully if you need!

If you WP is already installed in a subfolder but you want that subfolder to be named differently, that’s easy.
The real question is: do you want that /php/ subfolder renamed or you want to create a new folde called /blog/ and move it there?

I don’t care if I rename the /php/ folder or move WP to mydomain.com/blog/.. as long as address is mydomain.com/blog/… I suppose if I can rename dir ‘php’ to ‘blog’ that would be the simplest.. thank you very much..
