    Hi,

I have a WP site that I host for a client, I did not build this site a third party did. I do not have access to the admin area (could possibly get access).

I am trying to move this site from one Server2008 running IIS7 to another Server2008 running IIS7. The reason being the new server has a higher spec and the old one will be decommissioned.

I have successfully moved the non CMS PHP/HTML sites and tested them using http://192.168.0.1/sitename I also host a few Joomla! sites that have been migrated successfully. This leads me to believe the MySQL & PHP settings are correct. The php.ini was actually copied across so the setting are exactly as they were on the old server.

When I move the WP site I am getting a 500 error, when I rename the web.config file to web.config.old I get a 404 error. I can’t for the life of me work out why this is. I thought it might regenerate the web.config file and resolve the issue but this is not the case.

Has anyone out there had previous experience with migrating from IIS to IIS? Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Olly Edwards
