Support » Fixing WordPress » Backup Maximum Size

  • Hello–

I’m trying to use the import function with a WordPress backup but after browsing to the file, and clicking import, I am told that my file is past the maximum size of 2mb in php.ini…

Is there a way I can change the maximum import size to 3mb? My file is just over the 2mb limit.

I’ve been looking for php.ini and I cannot find the file at all.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Any ideas? I’m at a loss so far.

I forget the exact variable, but search your php.ini for something like max_upload_size. (heck, just search for upload?)

Where can I find my php.ini? I was looking everywhere in the wordpress folders… Is it someplace else, like in the database or something?

ah… sorry, I misread. I was under the impression you were searching in your php.ini, not for it.

If you’re in a shared/budget hosting, you probably won’t find it. Instead, you’d check with your host to see if they will up it for you.

Or search here in the forums for some other tips about adding stuff to your .htaccess as an override.

    Awesome… Thanks.

You’re always a great help, Solo.
