I’m new to WordPress. Using it about two days. There always was edit and quick edit in my dashboard under pages tab, each page had edit, quick edit, trash etc. I was having some issues with themese today so I decided to uninstall in re-install. Everything is fine until now I just noticed that there insn’t the quick edit function, it’s gone, none of the pages has it! I mean it was there like a few hours ago before reintalled

  • These links only appear when you hover the titles normally. Is that what you are doing, hovering over the page titles and not seeing the links?

If that’s the case, I would just re-install. Something must have gotten messed up when you did the first re-install.

Yes they only appear on a mouse over as you said, but without the quick edit, only edit, trash, view,

Strange.. I’ve never seen that. Have you tried switching to Twenty Twelve and deactivating all the plugins…

Well I didn’t deactivate all the plugins, but I switched between twenty twelve and 4 others just to see. All the same. The option isn’t there. In my updates it says that it is update but there’s a button re-install update, I did that about 3 times as well.

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Will I lose my content I have built so far? Plugins. themes , etc?

No – you will just be uploading WordPress core files. Most of your content is in your database and the rest is in your wp-content folder.

Ok, will do, let you know later of the results

Just did and didnt cut it. Downloaded wordpress from worpress.org. Compared what folders and files it contains. Deleted exactly all the same files and folders as contained in the zip from wordpress.org (except of WP-Content), replaced with freshly downloaded files. And nothing, looks exactly the same.
