    Hey,

I was just looking at the new beta, trying out all the different post types, and I had a bit of an “issue” getting the Chat post type to work. Heads-up: I normally just use the standard post type, but I was thinking recently “Wow, it would be nice if more themes actually treated the post types differently…”

Anyway, when I first posted the following Chat:

    This is a test.

    A what?

    A test.

    Oh, a test

This didn’t render at all in the Twenty Thirteen theme. Only when I added names to the top of each quote (with colons) did it start to work. (The quote by someone with a first and last name didn’t work, but this is a known issue from what I gather in this forum.)

    A suggestion: Either…

    • “Post it anyway” – As in, if the rendering engine cannot determine who is saying what in a chat post, just post it as-is; or
    • Provide some user information about what WordPress is expecting. This could be an error message when the post is saved in an invalid format, or even just a “how-to” link explaining how WordPress is expecting the chat to look.

Anyway, just my thoughts… Hope it helps! 🙂
