This may have been answered but if so, I couldn’t find it. I’m building a website for a customer who has numerous clients that each have separate private pages. They want EACH client (user) to be able to upload/view/download their own files.

Is it possible via shortcode to have files available only to specific users? Meaning: If clientA uploads a file, ONLY clientA will see it.

I see I can assign specific projects assigned to specific users to list, which is fine… but when I put the upload shortcode on the separate private pages ALL files uploaded by all users is visible.

I am also watching this thread — I have client that needs exactly the same thing . . . I’m going to do the “trial & error” deal today, and will repost if I can figure this out as well ok.

Hi there, actually this is how the document by default. Each user has access to their own files and only their own files. Unless you add them to a group (premium version) which gives them the opportunity to share files with other users of that group. Is it working differently for you?

Good Morning Smarty Pants! I think I have it figured out now . . . my confusion was with “projects” and “categories”. My client has a list of distributors they wish to be able to login and see/download ONLY the distributor files.

They also have their TEAM files — which only their staff would have access to be able to upload more files and download files in this area.

Was trying to figure out “projects” vs “categories” . . . and was looking for some direction in this area — no worries – I’m figuring it out better now . . . we have purchased the PREMIUM version, as well as ADD on for sub-folders. Not sure if I should purchase anything else (any additional add-ons).

Hi Laura what about the shortcode [cdm_public_view]

This basically shows all files in a “read only” format, you could put that behind a login if needed.

So if you wouldn’t mind sharing the solution, I’d appreciate it. No matter what I did, all files uploaded were visible when I dropped the upload shortcode on ANY private page, all files showed.

So how did you get ONLY client A’s files to appear on Client A’s upload page, and same for client B, C, D, etc?

Right now it’s in development on my localhost. But once I push live and if I have an issue I’ll email you. Thank you.

    Sounds good!

I am having the same problem, the files are visible even if I am not logged in.
    But I am on localhost
