I'm using the i3Theme from MangoOrange.
I like it real well as a three column theme but it doesn't have the option to create a page as a two column theme.
How would I make single pages two column?
How could I use a different two column theme for my single pages?
TIA....
Save index.php as home.php. Then in index.php take out one sidebar.
I claim the credit for being the first person to every carry out this operation :)
THX... I'll try it. Hopefully there won't be too many adjustments needed to the CSS.
Hi,
A further question on this topic here...
In general is it quite easy to alternate between two and three columns within a site?
See this page - http://www.laxwales.com/index.php and click between 'home' and 'fixtures and events'... I don't know if this page is wordpress, but I'd like to be able to flick between column quantities at will on all different pages.
Is this possible with all themes?
Thanks
Your example is not really related to the issue of this topic. It is NOT alternating between two and 3 column design!
Its is just a simple 2 column design where in certain posts it has a table in the content area.
Oh.
Thanks for that. I didn't realise. Very helpful.
If I were, for example, to wish to use the third column for a sub-menu etc, (ignoring the example which I showed you), would it be possible to do this.
(just ignore the example I sent you)
Basically, you could - provided you re-design that theme or some of its template files.
Ok. So I could do this to ANY theme... as long as I know how to make the alterations.
Most likely. Since not all the themes are coded identically, the necessary tweak might differ...
