footer does not display

    does anyone know why my footer does not display on my index.php pages and single.php pages

    but on my about page it does display?

    I am using wordpress 2.3 with an old equix 1.1 theme…

    when i have the old equix 1.1 theme installed on older versions of wordpress 2.2 or 2.1 for example, then the footer shows on all pages…

    perhaps this has something to do with the fact that wordpress 2.3 comes pre installed with widget support, but my old equix 1.1 theme sidebar is not widget ready?

    not sure…
