I use yoast SEO to set up my meta descriptions but for all of my posts including my home page google uses random information from some of my plugins rather than the info I have submitted for Meta.

Here is what Google lists in all my meta descriptions:

“Subscribe by Email If you liked this post, get Updates, for FREE! Powered by Subscribers Magnet Print PDF More Posts Related posts: Youth …”

However, my post meta descriptions are all post specific and my web page has a specific Meta HTML tag with my desired content right in the header.

I can’t find the code that is causing this and I’m frustrated that Google isn’t drawing from Yoast. Can someone please help?

    Hi mightytimbo,

When you look at your source code is there only one <meta description> tag?

Google pays increasingly less attention to tags and page titles. They like to write dynamic custom descriptions to, in their words, better match the searcher’s intent.

Could you provide us with a link? It is possible that your theme or a plugin is inserting additional meta tags that are overwriting the one generated by Yoast’s WordPress SEO.
